So, what can you expect on your first visit to the office?
First, you’ll get to meet our staff. Our front office staff will be happy to meet you. They’ll welcome you to the office, get you checked in for your appointment, and make sure we have all the information we need for your visit (forms, insurance information, etc.). They can also answer any questions you have.
When it’s time for your appointment, you’ll get to meet our assistants and the doctor.
If you’re in for a routine cleaning, that will happen next. The hygienist will do everything possible to provide you with the best experience and answer your questions. He or she will also ask you questions about your dental health and history and about any problems you might currently be having.
Next, the doctor will perform a complete oral exam and check for any problems. If you’ve come in for a specific problem, that will be discussed along with potential treatments. The doctor will recommend the best treatment or treatments for restoring your smile. You’ll also discuss your oral hygiene routine and ways to protect your teeth.
Of course, you’ll be able to ask any questions you might have as well!
If you need restorative work to correct a problem, or if you want cosmetic work to enhance your smile, the team will put together something known as a treatment plan. This is a customized plan developed just for you and tailored to restore your oral health and give you the smile you want.
Your plan will list all the treatments you’ve agreed on with your doctor, how many you need, in what order, and which ones take precedence. For example, if you need a root canal and a crown, the root canal must be done first. You’ll make one trip to the office for the root canal and impressions for the crown and another for the placement of the crown.
The treatment plan will lay this out so that you know exactly what to expect and when.
Finally, the staff will go over your insurance benefits and what your treatments will cost. Every insurance plan is different and may cover the same procedure in different amounts. We’ll be sure to break the costs down so you know what you’ll have to pay out of pocket and what will be covered by your insurance. We can also discuss financing options with you if you would like.
