What Are Invisalign®? Clear Aligners?
Invisalign® is a form of braces. Unlike traditional braces that place brackets, wires and elastic ties on the teeth, Invisalign® uses clear tray aligners.
Invisalign® clear aligners are molded from plastic, removable, and custom-made for each individual. When worn, they gently apply pressure on the teeth to move them slowly into their ideal position.
How Does Invisalign® Treatment Work?
After having a consultation with your orthodontist, we will take impressions of your mouth. These impressions are used to create the unique tray aligners for your treatment.
Invisalign® treatment uses a series of aligners that must be replaced about every two weeks, with each one feeling slightly different than the last as they continually shift and realign your teeth.
The aligner trays must be worn for 20-22 hours every day for effective results, but they can be removed when eating, drinking, brushing, flossing and even for special occasions as wearers see fit.
